Janey Cay Payne

Janey Cay Payne, 59, of Edgewood, TX, passed away on Thursday, October 19, 2023, at her home. She was born on October 15, 1964, in Terrell, TX, to her parents, J.C. King and Katherine Province King. Janey was raised in Wills Point and attended Wills Point Independent School District. Afterward, she pursued a career in cosmetology, becoming a hairdresser.

Janey was married to Bob Payne for over 30 years, and they initially made their home in Emory before settling in the Wills Point and Edgewood areas. While she worked as a hairdresser for a brief period, she primarily devoted her time to being a homemaker, taking care of her family. She was also a member of Wills Point First Baptist Church. Janey had a deep passion for hunting and fishing, often sharing these activities with her beloved husband, Bob. She also had a keen interest in arts and crafts, but her most cherished moments were spent with her grandchildren.

Janey is preceded in death by her father, J.C. King, and her brother, Jerry Paul King. She is survived by her husband, Bob Payne of Wills Point, TX; mother, Katherine King of Edgewood, TX; son, Justin Collett, and his wife, Ashley, of Italy, TX; daughter, Danielle Collett of Plano, TX; sisters, Kathy Kelly of Mabank, TX, Patty Jones of Edgewood, TX, and Judy Reschke of Canton, TX; and her adored grandchildren, Cameron McCallum, Cayden McCallum, Chloe Collett, and Justin Collett, Jr.

Funeral services for Janey Cay Payne will be held at Hiett's Lybrand Funeral Home in Wills Point at 11:00 AM on Monday, October 23, 2023. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service time.
