Jandra Tarrant Yarbrough

Jandra Lonita Yarbrough passed away peacefully at her home in Edgewood, Texas, on Friday, October 6, 2023, at the age of 64. Her memory will forever be etched in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

Jandra, born on January 5, 1959, in Dallas, Texas, was the cherished daughter of Bobby Joe Tarrant and Ora Jean Daniels Tarrant. She dedicated many years of her life to the nursing profession, serving the Dallas community with compassion and care. Her nurturing spirit and dedication to the well-being of others left a lasting impact on the lives she touched.

Jandra was a steadfast member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church in Edgewood, where her faith in the Lord was a guiding light in her life. She found solace and joy in praising her Creator and sharing her devotion with her church family.

In her leisure moments, Jandra enjoyed the quiet satisfaction of solving crossword puzzles and the beauty of music that resonated with her soul. Her true passion, however, was found in the love and support she gave to her grandchildren. Whether cheering them on at sporting events or creating cherished memories during Thanksgiving and Christmas celebrations, her presence filled their lives with warmth and love.

Jandra was preceded in death by her parents, Bobby Joe and Ora Jean Tarrant, her sister Paula Tarrant, and her sister Regina Spencer. She also joined her grandmothers, Ora Mae Milton and Clara Tarrant, in eternal peace.

Jandra's legacy lives on through her surviving family members, including her son, Jonathan Yarbrough, and his partner Tiki Acklin; her daughter, Jatora Yarbrough, and her partner Antrail Williams; her loving boyfriend and partner of 20 years, Danny Ray Taylor; and her adored grandchildren, Kierra, Kejavyion, Karisma, Kaelynn, and Jetivren; and great grandson, Kayson. She is also survived by her aunts, Clarisse Tarrant and Carolyn Tarrant; her cousin, Ann Hunter; and her uncle, Kenneth Tarrant, along with numerous other aunts, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Friends and family are invited to pay their respects and celebrate the life of Jandra Lonita Yarbrough during a visitation period from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Saturday, October 14, 2023, at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Edgewood, Texas. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM, with services being conducted under the compassionate care of Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home.
