James Ray “PawPaw Cracker” Keel, 60, of Sherman, TX, passed away Wednesday, November 18, 2020, in Plano, TX.

 

A benefit will be held at 12:00 PM, Saturday, November 21, 2020, at the VFW Post 2772- Sherman: 1707 Baker Rd., Sherman, TX 75090.

 

James Ray Keel was born on September 17, 1960, in Dallas, TX, to parents, James Walter Keel and Barbara Rae Lasater Keel. He grew up in Mesquite, TX, and attended North Mesquite Independent School District. While in high school he was a member of the Lone Star High School Rodeo Association. James married Dana Easley in Bonham, TX, on October 30, 2014. He lived in the Metroplex area most of his life, working in construction and plumbing. James was raised in the Baptist faith. He enjoyed his family, friends and taking trips on his Harley with Dana.

 

He is preceded in death by his parents, JW Keel and Barbara Keel.

 

James is survived by his wife, Dana Keel of Sherman, TX; son, Tyler Keel and wife, Courtney of Wills Point, TX; son, Justin Keel of Wills Point, TX; step-daughter, Heather Russell and husband, Brandon of Wolf City, TX; step-son, Jeremy Doyle and wife, Heather of Bonham, TX; step-son, Cameron Stahlheber; sister, JoLynn McCullough and husband, Jeff of Mesquite, TX; grandchildren, Kayden, Avery, Caselynn, Hayden, Brennon, Payton, Johnathan and Jeffery; numerous aunts and uncles, cousins and many special friends.
