James "Jim" Grover Smith

James "Jim" Grover Smith, 90, of Canton, TX, passed away on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, in Tyler. James was born on March 10, 1935, in Buffalo, NY, to Wilford A. Smith and Maxine Brown. He married Sandra Ann Pratt and together they shared 68 wonderful years of marriage. They lived in many places while Jim proudly served in the United States Air Force. He and Sandra spent time living in Brazil, where they were both deeply involved with the Girl Scouts of America Association. Jim and Sandra lived in various states and the short time that they lived in Lubbock, Co-owned an engineering company. They made their home in Canton and became devoted members of Russell Memorial Methodist Church in Wills Point.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Sandra Smith and parents, Wilford Smith and Maxine Brown.

Jim is survived by his son, Kyle Martin Smith; and daughter, Jana Renee Hasz of Tyler, TX.

Arrangements were made under the direction of Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home in Wills Point.
