Funeral services for JaKendrick Lyons, 20, of Wills Point, TX, are scheduled for 3:00 PM, Saturday, November 22, 2025, at St. Mark CME Church. Services are under the direction of Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home.

JaKendrick passed away on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, in Dallas.

Ja’Kendrick Lyons was born on August 12, 2005, in Dallas, TX, to parents Kendrick Lyons and Doris Yvonne Thompson. He was educated in the Wills Point Independent School District where he participated in basketball and track. JaKendrick accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of St. Mark C.M.E. Church. He was a member of the youth ministry.

 Ja’Kendrick held various positions in the food industry. He was known for his bright smile that could light up a room and his meek humble spirit. JaKendrick loved his family passionately and all that knew him loved him the same.

He is preceded in death by his father, Kendrick Lyons,  grandfathers, Billy Ray Lyons, Kenneth Jackson, great-grandmother Hortense Dunn and many more.

 Ja’Kendrick leaves many loved ones to cherish his memory of life; Mother: Doris Thompson; Grandmothers: Sarah Jackson and Debra Lyons;  grandfather; Ricky Osborne, Great Grandmother: Shirley Thompson; Sisters: Amilleon Langley and Jadacy Dunn; Brothers: Jaquez Thompson, Stephan Langley, Xavier Price and  Keondre Thornton; Aunts: LaToya Thompson, Maranda Thompson-Recasner (Anthony), Tanisha (Prissy) Lyons and Dedra Lyons; Great Aunts: Vivian Thompson, Katina Prince (Cecil), Cherlyn Dunn, Lisa Dunn and Norma Booker; Uncles: Orlando Thompson (Colby),        Octavius Thompson, Horace Lyons and Darrell Lyons (Vondella); Great Uncles: Frank Dunn, Joe Dunn (Vonda), Warren Dunn (Sherri), Dewayne Jackson (Marilyn), Oliver Dunn and Carlton Dunn (Taisha); dear friends, Cadence Mizzell, Kia Brumley (cousin), and Corley and Cadence Howard.

Goodbyes are not forever; Goodbyes are not the end. They simply mean I’ll miss you until we meet again.

A wake will be held from 6:00-8:00 PM, Friday, November 21, 2025, at Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home in Wills Point.
