She was born on August 24, 1934, in Grayson County, TX, to Almous Clifton Brannum and Edna Lee Patton Brannum. Raised in Van Alstyne, Ida attended school there before marrying Alfred McBride on September 26, 1950. They lived in Plano before moving to Wilmer in 1960, and later to Terrell in 1969. In 1981, Ida and Alfred settled at Lake Tawakoni. Alfred preceded her in death on October 9, 1986.

Ida found love again and married Don Evans on October 12, 1987. They were avid square dancers and dedicated members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Later, on June 20, 2009, Ida married Leon Pickens, who also preceded her in death on September 18, 2019.

Ida cherished her role as a homemaker, devoting herself to her children, family, and her service to God. Her faith and dedication to the church as a missionary were among her most significant accomplishments.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Almous and Edna Brannum; her husbands, Alfred McBride, Don Evans, and Homer Leon Pickens; her stepson, Bryan Evans; her grandsons, James Harner and Timothy Littleton; and four brothers and three sisters.

Ida is survived by her children, Edna Tucker and Pearley Kobres of Detroit, TX; Ida Helton and husband Joe of Wills Point, TX; Albert Clifton McBride of Elmo, TX; Alfred McBride and wife Kathy of Longview, TX; Clevern McBride and wife Joann of Longview, TX; and Martha Lopez and husband Joe of Michigan.
