Funeral services for Geneva Thompson Slatton, 76, of Wills Point, TX, are scheduled for 11:00 AM, Friday, April 22, 2022, Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home in Wills Point. Burial will follow at Sand Flat Cemetery in Grand Saline.

Geneva passed away on Monday, April 18, 2022.

Geneva Thompson was born on March 4, 1946, in Dallas, TX, to Jesse Thompson and Minnie Fritz Thompson. She was raised in Dallas for most of her youth while attending schools in the area. Geneva met and married the love of her life Charles Slatton on March 6, 1962, and they later moved to Wills Point in 1981, to make their home. Geneva was a homemaker while raising her children, but soon after was a supervisor for AAA Wire for many years until she retired. She was of the Baptist faith. Geneva enjoyed crocheting doilies and quilts. She also loved to read, cook and spend time with her friends and family.

She is proceeded in death by her parents, Jesse and Minnie (Fritz) Thompson; husband, Charles Slatton; two brothers and one sister.  

Geneva is survived by her children, Michael Slatton and wife Shannon of Quinlan, TX, Linda Stigall and husband Kenneth (Buddy) of Lone Oak, TX, Donna Renshaw of Emory, TX, and James Slatton of Wills Point; brothers, Larry Thompson and Wyley Lee Thompson; along with seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 PM, Thursday, April 21, 2022, at Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home.
