Floyd "Loron" Creech

Funeral services for Floyd “Loron” Creech, 83, of Edgewood, TX, are scheduled for 2:00 PM, Wednesday, September 1, 2021, at First Baptist Church in Edgewood. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service time. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home.

Loron passed away on Saturday, August 28, 2021, at his home.

Floyd Loron Creech was born on January 19, 1938, in Olney, TX, to the late Robert Loron and Floy Sutton Creech. He graduated from Edgewood High School and married Clara Rusk on August 18, 1956. They were married for 65 years. Loron and Clara moved to Dallas where he worked for the Dallas Fire Department as a driver engineer (known as “Smokey”) for 28 years before retiring in 1988 at the age of 50. He and Clara moved back to Edgewood in 1969. Loron was a carpenter designing and building several homes. He also delivered meals on wheels for many years. Loron was a school board member, a cattle farmer and a member of First Baptist Church in Edgewood.

He is preceded in death by his father, Robert Loron Creech; mother and stepfather, Floy Sutton Creech Reardon and Roy Reardon; brother, Clayton Creech.

Loron is survived by his wife, Clara Creech of Edgewood, TX; son, Tommy Creech of Edgewood, TX; daughter, Deborah (Debbie) Spears and husband, Mark of Red Oak, TX; sister, Drenna Cate of Rochelle, TX; brother, Dan Reardon and wife, Lauretta of Livingston, TX; sister-in-law, Fay McCollum of Mesquite, TX; grandson, David Spears of Red Oak, TX.
