Memorial services for Ernest Dean Lane, 91, of Edgewood, TX, are scheduled for 12:00 PM, Saturday, September 5, 2020, at Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home in Edgewood. 

Ernest Dean Lane passed away on Wednesday, August 19, 2020 at 4:50pm.

Ernest Dean Valentine was born on December 1, 1928, in Edgewood, TX, to parents, Woody Obrien Valentine and Ollie Mae Nelson. She was raised in Edgewood where she graduated from high school. Ernest Dean then moved to Dallas, TX, to start work and met her husband Preston who she married in 1949. After living in Houston for 24 years she moved back to Edgewood in 1976, with her husband. He preceded her in death in August of 2000. She enjoyed working at the lake house in Hawkins, TX, spending time with family and gardening as well as collecting antique dishes. Ernest Dean was a member of the Lanewood Church of God in Edgewood.

She is preceded in death by husband F. P. Lane, son Larry Lane, and brother, Loyd Valentine.

Ernest is survived by her sons, Tommy Lane of Dickenson, TX, and Don Lane of Hawkins, TX; sisters, Rebel Lee Gentle of Edgewood, TX, and Bobby Lou Rogers of Edgewood, TX; grandchildren, Nicholas Lane, Wesley Lane, Colter Lane, Alexis Lane and Lucas Lane
