Era Lucille Burgin

Graveside services for Era “Lucille” Burgin, 97, of Terrell, TX, are scheduled for 1:00 PM on Tuesday, October 26, 2021, at White Rose Cemetery in Wills Point, TX. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 PM, October 25, 2021, at Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home.

Lucille passed away on October 22, 2021 in Kaufman, Texas surrounded by family.

Era Lucille Rasure was born on December 3, 1923, in Hopkins Co., TX, to parents Goldman Rasure and Maudie Pearl Wilhite Rasure. She was raised in Dike, TX and attended Dike Schools. Lucille married Ides Burgin on Feb. 5th, 1941 and they made their home in Kaufman County. She was a homemaker and also worked on the family farm. Lucille  loved to be around her family, tend cattle, garden and fish. 

She is preceded in death by her husband, Ides Burgin; parents, Goldman and Maudie Rasure; brother, Billy Wayne Taylor; grandson, Tommy Swift, and granddaughter, Tammy Burgin.

Lucille is survived by her daughter, Barbara Ann Kuban of Terrell, TX; son, Charles Edward Burgin and wife, Carol of Elmo, TX; grandchildren, Kathy McBride and husband, Alfred of Longview, TX, Danny Swift of Terrell, TX, Cynthia Hayrat and husband, Abol of McKinney, Karen Girman and husband, Rob, of Midlothian, TX, Sherry Cox and husband, Charles of Terrell, TX, and Terri Burgin of Elmo and numerous great-grandchildren.

She is loved by all who knew her and will be dearly missed.
