Ed passed away on Saturday, March 27, 2021, at his home in Plano.

Edward Lee Swindle was born to LeRoy Swindle and Josphine Bohannan on October 1, 1937. He was the oldest of eleven children. Ed married the love of his life, Bertha Lang, in 1957 and they spent thirty-four years together. He worked most of his life starting at eight years old, from selling newspapers, butcher, caddy, pin sitter at the bowling alley, to working his way to work for Fox & Jacobs for twenty years. Ed later started his own business as a paint contractor for thirty years until retiring. He was a family man who loved spending time together. Ed enjoyed gambling and collecting old coins and guns. He was a giving man who never met a stranger and was always willing to help those in need. Ed would give you the shirt off of his back if you needed it. His favorite pastime was telling old stories of his childhood and travels. Those stories will continue to be told by his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Ed will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his father, LeRoy Swindle; mother and stepfather, Josphine and Sandy Sanders; wife, Bertha Lang; son, Edward Swindle, Jr.; great grandson, Dylan Cole Henslee; two sisters and one brother.

Ed is survived by his daughters, Peggy Nunley and husband, Richard of Plano, TX, Linda King and husband, Johnny “Tater” Beachem of Bells, TX, and Susan Lyon and husband, Jimmy of Wills Point, TX; brothers, Billy Sanders, Paul Sanders, Jimmy Sanders and Gary Sanders; sisters, Betty Zahn, Laurie Windship and Paula Sanders; thirteen grandchildren, twenty-eight great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
