To the media Edward Glenn Orton was a homeless man found under a bridge. To his family he was so much more. I wish I had found him before this!
My father graduated as Vice President of his graduating High School class, was in the National Honor Society, was American Legion Boys’ State Representative for C. E. King High School and received many awards. He was super smart and loved to make you laugh. Man did he love his drum set! The memories I have of him as a child was him always in the garage playing the drums and working on songs. He was a successful electrician and worked on many commercial projects. He also had a passion of riding motorcycles. The last time I saw him was November/December of 2015. I remember that time like it was yesterday. He spent Thanksgiving with us and my kids loved him! He stayed a few weeks and you would have thought he was a natural at being a grandpa. I am thankful for the time I had with him and that he was able to meet my little family. It was always hard seeing him leave.
Edward is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Valentine and husband Jordan of Wills Point and his son, Adam Orton.
