Edward J. Delamater, Jr.

Edward James Delamater, Jr., 82 of Terrell, TX, passed away on Monday, June 27, 2022, in Dallas.

Edward was born on February 6, 1940, in Binghamton, NY, to parents Edward J. Delamater, Sr. and Erma Courtright Delamater. He was raised in Binghamton, New York and graduated from high school. Edward served his country when enlisting in the United States Air Force as an SAC and was stationed in Amarillo, TX. After the military he attended college for two years. Edward married Saundra “Sandy” Swartz in December of 1994, at the First Assembly of God Church in Terrell. He and Sandy made their home in Elmo. Edward was a software engineer senior for Samsung in research and development. He enjoyed working with computers and truly loved yard work.

Edward is survived by his wife, Sandy Delamater of Elmo, TX; son, Steven Delamater of Princeton, TX; step-son, Charlie Jones and wife, Chastity of Grand Saline, TX; daughter, Rita Mae Delamater of Grapevine, TX; sister, Lynette Fugett of Wesminster, CO; along with three grandsons.

Edward will be laid to rest at the DFW National Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home.
