Edgar "Ed" Crawford

Funeral services for Edgar “Ed” Ewing Crawford, 98, of Wills Point, TX, are scheduled for 2:00 PM, Tuesday, October 5, 2021, at Hiett’s Lybrand Funeral Home in Wills Point. Burial will follow at White Rose Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service time.

Ed passed away on Wednesday, September 29, 2021, in Carrollton, TX.

Edgar Ewing Crawford was born on March 20, 1923, in Callahan County, TX, to parents, Levi Edgar Crawford and Ima Mae Keith Crawford. He was born at his grandparents place a few miles from Dudley, TX, and was raised in Clyde, TX. Ed worked in the cotton fields as a young child. He married Frances Allene Estill and they lived in Brownfield. Frances preceded him in death. Ed joined the United States Army and went through 16 weeks of training in California, later being wounded in by a Japanese mortar shell in the Philippines. He spent a year in the hospital recovering and the returned to the United States for more rehab. Ed was owner operator of an automotive repair and upholstery repair business in Garland for many years. He later married Sarah Jane Heisig and they were married for 25 years before she preceded him in death. Ed did not have many hobbies, but his favorite was eating.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Jane Crawford; daughter-in-law, Debbie Crawford; son-in-law, Alfard Rich.  

Ed is survived by his son, Eddie Crawford and fiancé, Rosalyn Rose of Rockwall, TX; daughters, Carolyn Johnston of Carrollton, TX, and Rita Rich of Grand Saline, TX; grandchildren, Carl Brent Crawford and wife Ashley, Brandi Dee Crawford, Greg Farmer and wife Gloria, Ricky Rich and wife Denise, and Ronald Rich and wife Mary; along with five great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
