Earnie Copeland, 75, of Hawkins, TX, passed away on Sunday, November 2, 2025, at his home.
Earnie Lynn Copeland was born on June 29, 1950, in Midland, TX, to Austin Earnie Copeland and Velma (Blondie) Lucille O’Neal Copeland. He grew up on Route 1 in Winnsboro, TX, where he graduated from Saltillo High School and worked on his family’s dairy farm. Earnie attended Texas A&M Commerce (formerly East Texas State University) for agriculture before leaving and starting with UPS.
Earnie married Reva Gentle on October 14, 2020. Over the years, he worked in several different occupations, including with UPS, before later retiring as a self-employed machinist. Earnie was an avid NASCAR fan and hunter who enjoyed collecting lanterns and knives. He also had a deep love for music.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Austin and Velma (Blondie) Copeland; and his sister, Margie Sutton.
Earnie is survived by his wife, Reva Copeland of Hawkins, TX; daughter, Jessica Copeland and husband Steven Sparks of Granbury, TX; stepdaughter, Emily Gentle of Hawkins, TX; brother, Alex Coursey of Houston, TX; and step-grandchildren, Meya Yale and Riley Gentle.
Arrangements were under the direction of Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home in Wills Point.
