Funeral services for Dorothy Ann Farmer, 86, of Edgewood, TX, are scheduled for 2:00 PM, Tuesday, April 12, 2022, at Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home in Edgewood. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service time. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.
Dorothy passed away on Saturday, April 9, 2022, in Wills Point.
Dorothy Ann Goleman was born on July 14, 1935, in Quinlan, TX, to parents Ira Wayne Goleman and Connie Denman Goleman. She was raised in Quinlan and graduated from Quinlan Ford High School, Class of 1953. Dorothy married Irby Leroy Farmer on May 7, 1953, and they lived in Greenville to make their home. She and Irby lived in California while he served his country and later moved back home to Texas, deciding to settle in Edgewood in 1968. Dorothy was a homemaker while raising their children and later worked as an aide for 13 years for Edgewood ISD before retiring in 2002. Dorothy was a member of the Cheatham Memorial United Methodist Church in Edgewood.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Ira and Connie Goleman; two brothers, Jack Goleman and Bobby Goleman.
Dorothy is survived by her husband, Irby Farmer of Edgewood, TX; son, Lee Farmer and wife, Donna of Edgewood, TX; daughter, Donna Seale of Yantis, TX; grandchildren, Jason and Misty Seale, Josh and Jennifer Seale, Jessica and Johnathan Jackman and Nicholas Farmer; great grandchildren, Bailee and Clay Gurley, Masen Seale, Emilee Seale, Keaton Seale, Jasmine Jackman, Michael Jackman, Hailee Biggerstaff, Jaclyn Jackman and James Jackman; great-great grandchildren, Dallas Gurley and one on the way.
