Funeral services for Donna Lee Byrd, 72, of Wills Point, TX, are scheduled for 11:00 AM, Friday, May 12, 2023, at Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at White Rose Cemetery.
Donna passed away Sunday, May 7, 2023, at her home.
Donna Lee Morrow was born on September 25, 1950, in Lexington, KY, to parents, Donald M. Morrow and Ruby Duncan Morrow. She was raised in Lexington where she attended Layfette High School. Donna later moved to Austin, TX, and graduated from McCallum High School. She married Kenneth Wayne Byrd in Highland Park Baptist Church on August 23, 1969, and they made their home in Austin. Donna attended UT Austin and obtained her bachelor’s degree in nursing, working at the UT campus hospital. She and Ken moved to Richardson in the summer of 1979, where Donna was employed at the Medical City Dallas-Group Practice Urologist office. They moved to Wills Point in the summer of 2013, and they were members of Calvary Baptist Church. Donna was very crafty and loved to sew, make jewelry, paint ceramics, and making quilts.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Ruby Morrow; sister, Kathryn Morrow; brother, Thomas Morrow; in-laws, “Toby” T.B. Byrd, Jr. and Jeanette Byrd; granddaughter, Sydney Grace Byrd.
Donna is survived by her husband, Kenneth Byrd of Wills Point, TX; sons, Adam C. Byrd and wife, Heather of Round Rock, TX, and Ian M. Byrd and wife, Alyssa of Albuquerque, NM; brother, Kevin R. Morrow and wife, Bill of Granville, KY; sister, Teresa Worth and husband, Allan of Dripping Springs, TX; grandchildren, Aurora Byrd, Alexander Byrd, Gus Byrd, Liam Byrd and Henry Byrd.
