Funeral services for Delia “Dee” Mozelle Flowers, 87, are scheduled for 1:00 pm, Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at Hiett’s LyBrand Chapel. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service time. Burial will be held at White Rose Cemetery
Delia Mozelle Flowers was born on May 14, 1938 in Wills Point to Albert William and Mildred Inez Hunter. She grew up in Duncanville and graduated from Duncanville High School. She worked in Dallas, Texas where she met Bill Flowers. They dated a few weeks and fell in love for a lifetime. Dee married Bill on February 13, 1960 in the First Assembly of God Church in Duncanville, TX. They made their home in the Dallas area and Dee assisted in the management of their business Kool Air Mechanical. She was a dedicated wife and loving mother to their two daughters, Starlyn Jones and Teresa Denney whom they raised in DeSoto, Texas. They moved to Canton in 2002 and retired in 2003. She enjoyed many years as a grandmother and great-grandmother giving much love and joy to her family. She loved antiquing and garage sales especially with friends and family and collected many pieces of pottery.
Dee is survived by two brothers Stephen Hunter and wife Gail and Larry Hunter and wife DeLois of Duncanville, TX; and her two daughters, Starlyn Jones and husband, Kevin of Emory and Teresa Denney and husband William of Yantis, Texas; and grandchildren Alissa Baxley and husband Travis and great-grandchildren, Catilyn and John Baxley of Como, TX; Michael Jones and wife RustieAnne of Point, TX and great-granddaughter Nacona Jones; grandchildren Brian Denney of Yantis, TX, Mark Denney and fiancé Kelsey Pucklewicz of Richmond, TX and Heather Denney Mitchell and great-grandson Tyler Mitchell of Richmond, TX
Dee passed away August 1, 2025 at her apartment surrounded by her family.
Memorial may be made to the Meals On Wheels Charity in the surrounding Emory area.
