Danny "Dan" Jennings, a beloved resident of Edgewood, TX, passed away on the 23rd of September, 2023 at the age of 80. Born on November 8, 1942, in Dallas, TX, Dan was the cherished son of James Dan Jennings and Wanda Darlene Offutt. He spent his formative years in Beaumont and proudly graduated from Kountze High School. On February 13, 1968, Dan found his lifelong love, Darlene McDonald, and together, they embarked on a journey filled with faith, family, and friendships.

Dan's career led him to work with Exxon Mobile, taking him to various places, including Vidor, Kountze, and Lumberton, before he and Darlene settled in Edgewood in 2007. As a Christian and ordained minister of the gospel, Dan was dedicated to serving others through his membership in the Willow Springs Baptist Church offering solace and inspiration to many.

Beyond his spiritual calling, Dan had a zest for life. He was an avid runner who never met a stranger on the track. Sharing his testimony with “everyone” was single-handedly his favorite pastime. When he wasn’t running, you could find Dan fishing, tinkering in his shop, helping others with various projects, or tending to his garden.

Dan is preceded in death by his parents, J.D. and Darlene Jennings, and his dear brother, Ben Jennings.

He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Darlene Jennings, of Edgewood, TX. His memory lives on through his son, Randall Jennings, and wife Missy of Kountze, TX; his daughters, Andrea Locke and husband Craig of Edgewood, TX, Jo Ellen Gravis and husband Steven of Edgewood, TX, and Jessica Barry and husband John Paul of Marble Falls, TX. Dan is also survived by his brother, Jim Jennings of Vidor, TX; sisters, Beverly Parker and husband Selman of Tyler, TX, Sharon Lack of Kountze, TX, Sue Jennings of Maine, and Jan Smith and husband Glenn of Lumberton, TX. He leaves behind a legacy through his cherished grandchildren: Preston, Ashton, Whitney, Audrey, Quinton, Lauren, Katelyn, Johnathan, Emma, and Amelia, as well as his adored great-grandchildren: Ruby, J.D., Raymond, Sandy, Alice, Carter, Dani, Valorie, and Beckett.

Dan's memory will forever be cherished in our hearts. His kindness, wisdom, and unwavering love will continue to encourage us to always put God first in our lives. As we gather to honor his life, let us remember the laughter, the love, and the moments that made him a faithful friend, a beloved family member, and a pillar of strength in our community.

“I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.” Galatians 2:20
