Cynthia was born on October 25, 1958, in Fort Worth, Texas, to the late Joe and Gwendolyn Rae Taylor Darr. She was raised in and graduated from high school in Haltom City and went on to build a successful career as an insurance commercial lines account manager. Cynthia excelled in marketing and managing customer accounts, earning the respect and admiration of her colleagues. She retired in 2019, leaving behind a legacy of professionalism and dedication.
Alongside her work, Cynthia was a very active member of the Federation of Insurance Women of Texas and the Tarrant County Insurance Professionals group. During her time with FIWT she served as the 2008 annual convention liaison which was held at the Texas Motor Speedway and also as the FIWT golf liaison. During her time with TCIP she served as president two times and held multiple other positions within the organization. She was even convinced to speak on stage multiple times despite her numerous protests!
After a brief marriage to Gerald Winters in 1977, Cynthia married Ross Pinson in 1980, and together they had a child, V Pinson, in 1993. Though they later divorced, Cynthia and Ross remained close throughout her life. A passionate sports fan, Cynthia's love for the Dallas Cowboys, Texas Rangers, and TCU Horned Frogs was well known among her family and friends (along with all her neighbors who got to hear the shouting during game time!) She also enjoyed shopping and spending time with her family.
Cynthia’s kindness was admired by all who knew her. She was known as the guardian angel of the lost, the lonely, and the strays. Her heart knew no limits and she would always be the first to reach out and check in on those in need of some kindness.
Cynthia was preceded in death by her parents, her great-nephew Daniel Joseph Cummings, great-great-nephew Carson James Sanchez, and her lifelong friend Cris Pina.
