Curtis Lyons Obituary

A private funeral service for Curtis Lee Lyons, Jr., 75, of Wills Point, TX, is scheduled for 1:00 PM, Saturday, June 13, 2020, at Hiett's LyBrand Funeral Home in Wills Point.  A wake will be held from 6:00-8:00 PM, Friday, June 12, 2020, at the funeral home.  Also Mr. Lyons' may be viewed between the hours of 1:00-5:00 PM, on Friday, to sign the register book.

Curtis passed away Wednesday, June 3, 2020, at a hospital in Greenville.

Curtis Lee Lyons was born March 8, 1945 in Wills Point, Texas from the union of the late Curtis Lyons and Earnestine Lyons. Curtis Lee graduated from Cartwright High School in 1963.   In 1964, Curtis Lee served his country by enlisting into the United States Army.  He was a loving husband to Stella Marie Lyons; with this union they were blessed with three children.  Curtis Lee accepted Christ at an early age at Wesley Chapel Baptist Church.

Curtis Lee worked for Air System Components Inc. for 33 years before retiring. Upon retiring, Curtis Lee was a great carpenter and his biggest enjoyment was his boat and his love for fishing. 

Curtis Lee was preceded in death by his loving Wife Stella Marie Lyons; Father Curtis Lyons; Mother Earnestine Lyons; Son Derek Lyons Sr.; Sister Sandra Lyons and Brother Donald Lyons.

Curtis Lee leaves to cherish his legacy, Children; Dondrick Lyons (Sandra) of Mesquite, Texas, Lajeria Spencer (DeAndre) of Mesquite, Texas, Grandson who he helped raise Derek Lyons Jr. and God Son Ricky Warren (Lynette) of Wills Point, Texas; Sister, Brenda Faye Maroney of Wills Point, Texas; Brother, Roger Lyons (Dorian) of Plano, Texas; 7 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, loving friends and extended family.

Curtis Lee lived a full and fruitful life and his memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those he loved and who loved him.

 

Due to COVID-19, guests attending these services for Mr. Lyons' are asked to respectfully wear a mask.
