We remember and honor the life of Christy Rachelle Garner Kunisch, who passed away on Saturday, June 17, 2023, at the age of 48.
Christy Rachelle Garner was born on April 28, 1975, in Grand Prairie, Texas, to her parents, Gary Kenneth Garner and Donna Lee Kinsey. She grew up in Grand Prairie and graduated from South Grand Prairie High School. Christy spent most of her life in the Dallas area, focusing on her role as a homemaker.
Music held a special place in Christy's heart, and she was known for her love of concerts and festivals. At the age of 16, she even moved to Seattle to immerse herself in the music scene. Christy also had a passion for art, which she expressed through her collection of tattoos.
Christy is preceded in death by her mother, Donna Garner, and her son, Joseph Donley. She is survived by her father, Gary Garner, and his wife, Susan, of Duncanville, Texas. She leaves behind her sons, Aidan Kunisch of Dallas, Texas, and Kaden Sullins of Calera, Oklahoma, as well as her daughter, Ava Hampton of Dallas, Texas. Christy is also survived by her brothers, Gary Garner and his wife, Kristi, of Fruitvale, Texas, and Colby Garner of Sherman, Texas, along with her sister, Terry Garner of Grand Prairie, Texas. She is fondly remembered by her five nephews and two nieces.
During this time of grieving, may we find comfort in the memories we shared with Christy and hold her in our hearts forever.
"Tell me, are you a badfish, too?
Are you a badfish, too?
Ain't got no quarrels with God
Ain't got no time to grow old
Lord knows I'm weak
Won't somebody get me off this reef?"
