Christine Smith Thompson, 73, of Edgewood, TX, formerly of Dallas, passed away peacefully at her home with her niece, Dawn Bell and husband Donnie Bell, by her side on Friday, November 22, 2024.
Christine was born on January 30, 1951, in Rochester, NY, to Robert William Smith and Jeanne Marie Robison Smith. Raised in New York, she attended Greece Arcadia schools and developed a love for singing, which remained a lifelong passion. In 1979, Christine moved to Texas where she met the love of her life Charles Locke Thompson. They married and built a life together working in the insurance industry. Christine last worked with Roberts, Cunningham, and Stripling, Inc.
Christine had a deep appreciation for nature, enjoying gardening, bird watching, and always had a pack of dogs by her side. She had a creative flair expressed through her crafts and also had a love of entertaining her family and friends.
Christine was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Jeanne Smith; her beloved husband, Charles Locke Thompson; her sister, Cathy Alessi; and her brother, Paul Smith.
She is survived by her nieces, Dawn Marie Bell (Donnie) of Edgewood, TX; Shawn Alessi and Tina Alessi, both of Rochester, NY; Heather Alessi of Rochester, NY; Jamie Alessi of Rochester, NY; Stephanie Smith and Mindy Smith of McKinney, TX; her nephew, Bobby Farrell of Cedar Hill, TX; her sister, Ginny Farrell of Cedar Hill, TX; her stepchildren, Wendy Jones (Greg) of Montana, Rachel Hamilton (Dub) of Blue Ridge, TX, and Charlie Thompson (Tori) of Hawaii.
Christine’s memory will be cherished by all who knew her.
