Funeral services for Charles Ray King, 74, of Edgewood, TX, are scheduled for 10:00 AM, Friday, March 10, 2023, at Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home in Wills Point, TX, with Eddie Paul Stanley officiating. Burial will be held at Small Cemetery.

Charles passed away on Saturday, March 4, 2023, surrounded by his family.

Charles Ray King was born on June 10, 1948, in Van Zandt County, TX, to parents James Leon King and Mary Frances Weatherford King. He was raised around Grand Saline and Fruitvale while attending Fruitvale Independent School District. Charles married Linda Farthing in Wills Point on June 10, 1970, and they made their forever home in Edgewood. He was a self-employed truck driver for most of his life and retired in 1998. Charles was of the Pentecostal faith. He loved attending car shows, swap meets, and restoring old cars with Linda and his friends.  He also enjoyed camping, working on the farm, and spending time with his grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Leon and Frances King; brother, Larry King; sister, Dorothy LaPrade.

Charles is survived by his wife, Linda King of Edgewood, TX; sons, Scotty King and wife Cheryl of Wills Point, TX, and Cody King of Grand Saline, TX; grandchildren, Emma King of Stephenville, TX, Mckinzee King of Fruitvale, TX, and Tatum King of Fruitvale, TX.

Pallbearers will be Scotty King, Cody King, Dan Flanagan, Mitchell Farthing, Cory Brewer, and Tatum King.  Honorary pallbearers will be Charley Farthing, Bill Cobb, and Jerry Hudgins.

Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 PM, Thursday, March 9, 2023, at Hiett’  LyBrand Funeral Home in Wills Point.
