Funeral services for Carlton Thomas Grunden, 92, of Edgewood, Texas, are scheduled for 1:00 PM, Saturday, November 6, 2021, at Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home in Edgewood. Burial will follow at Union Chapel Cemetery in Van.
Carlton passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, November 3, 2021.
Carlton was born on April 18, 1929, in El Dorado, AR, to parents Jake Paul Grunden and Ethel Cora Grunden. He was raised in East Texas where he attended school. Carlton married Helen Clark in Garden Valley, TX, September 21, 1950, and they reared three children. He was plant engineer at Mrs. Baird’s Bread for forty years before retiring. Carlton was a faithful servant of the Lord his entire life. He enjoyed hunting, helping others and caring for home and family.
He is preceded in death by parents, Jake and Ethel Grunden; sons, Tom Grunden and Dave Grunden; two brothers and four sisters.
Carlton is survived by his wife, Helen Grunden of Edgewood, TX; daughter, Vicki Grunden of Edgewood, TX; brother, Gerald Grunden and wife, Dorothy of Gladewater, TX; along with many grandchildren, great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
