Bonnie Jean Rushing

Private funeral services for Bonnie Jean Rushing, 88, of Wills Point, TX, are scheduled for 10:00 AM, Wednesday, December 16, 2020, at Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home in Wills Point. A private visitation will be held one hour prior to service time starting at 9:00 AM. The family requests that all attendees please wear a mask.

Bonnie passed away on Monday, December 14, 2020, at her home in Wills Point.

Bonnie Jean Stockstill was born on July 14, 1932, in Waterproof, LA, to parents, John Daris Stockstill and Juanita Taylor Stockstill. She was raised in Waterproof, Louisiana and graduated from Waterproof High School. Bonnie played fast pitch softball while she was in high school. She married Joe C. Rushing on March 4, 1949. Bonne and Joe moved to the Wills Point community in 1964. She worked for Malouf Manufacturing and Baylor Dental College for many years. Bonnie was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Wills Point where she kept records and worked in the food ministry.

She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Juanita Stockstill; husband, Joe C. Rushing; daughter, Bonnie Jo Roan; son, Darrell Rushing; and infant daughter, Sherry Jean Rushing.

Bonnie is survived by her daughters, Debbie Hill of Wills Point, TX, and Beverly Lane and husband, Joey of Wills Point, TX; daughter-in-law, Brenda Rushing of Wills Point, TX; grandchildren, Joe and Crystal Rushing, Rusty and Kimberley Lane, Robbie Lane, Brent Humphries, Brandi Jo and Jason Foster, Angel Phillips, Nikki and Jeremy Mack, Crystal and Michael Carrico and Donnie and Alison Steil; great grandchildren, Jalen Lane, Rusten Lane, Braylee Foster, Aybrie Foster, Jax Humphries, Brooke Richardson, Presley Mack, Tenley Mack, Skyler Carrico, Kenley Carrico, Lainey Carrico, Payton Rushing, Paisley Rushing, Joseph, Jr. Rushing and Saige Steil, due in January.

The family requests that any memorials made in Bonnie’s name be made to: Calvary Baptist Church or the charity of your choice.
