Bobby Heddin

Bobby Heddin, 86, of Edgewood, Texas, passed away peacefully on May 17, 2024, in Tyler, Texas. Funeral services to honor his life will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, May 24, 2024, at Hiett’s Lybrand Funeral Home in Wills Point Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.

Bobby was born on November 1, 1937, in Edgewood, Texas, to Marion Odell Heddin and Janie Hanna Foster Heddin. Growing up in Edgewood, he developed a strong sense of community and graduated from Edgewood High School. In 1970, he embarked on a distinguished 23-year career with the Dallas Police Department, where he served with dedication and integrity until his retirement in 1993.

Bobby lived in Mesquite, Texas, for over two decades before returning to his beloved hometown of Edgewood. He was of the Baptist faith. Bobby is remembered for his commitment to his family, his faith, and his community. His legacy is one of service, kindness, and strength.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Marion and Janie Heddin, and nine siblings.

Bobby leaves behind a loving family: his son, David Heddin and wife, Joyce, of Hamilton, Texas; his daughter, Victoria Bearden and husband, Mark, of Mesquite, Texas; his sister, Latrece Martin; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. His memory will be cherished by all who knew him.
