Funeral services for Billy Rube Gammons, 87, of Edgewood, TX, are scheduled for 11:00 AM, Friday, December 2, 2022, at Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home in Edgewood. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service. Burial will be held at Small Cemetery.

Billy passed away on Tuesday, November 29, 2022, at his home surrounded by loved ones.

Billy Rube Gammons was born on December 22, 1934, in Edgewood, TX, to parents Jefferson Jackson Gammons and Lila Jenkins Gammons. He was a life-long resident of Edgewood attending school in the Small Community. Billy married and raised three sons, Billy Jack, Joel and Roger. He was employed as a truck driver for Tyler Pipe & Safeway for many years. Billy also loved to farm his ranch. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and tending to his cows.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Jefferson and Lila Gammons; grandchild, Erica Smithson; brother, Hubert Gammons; sisters, Beatrice White and Earline Harvey.

Billy is survived by his sons, Joel Gammons and wife Peggy of Edgewood, TX, Billy Jack Gammons of Edgewood, TX, and Roger Gammons of Edgewood, TX; sisters, Edith Wade of Tyler, TX, Janice Fisher of Edgewood, TX, and Lois Rice of Edgewood, TX; grandchildren, Joey Gammons and wife Kristyn, Dillon Garrison, Cody Gammons, Becky Jackson and husband Mark and Randall Lowrey; great grandchildren, Haydon Freeman, Brantley Gammons, Jennings Gammons, Whitley Gammons, Grayson Garrison, Garrett Jackson and Brenna Jackson.
