Betty Joyce (Harwell) Davis

Funeral services for Betty Davis, 93, of Wills Point, TX, are scheduled for 11:00 AM, Saturday, February 8, 2025, at Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. A committal service will follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery in Wolfe City, TX, at 3:00 PM.

Betty passed away on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at her home. Betty Joyce Harwell was born on June 9, 1931, in Electra, TX, to parents Mason Harwell and Jessie Lee Bringle Harwell. She was raised in Wolfe City, where she attended school.

Betty married Howard Davis in 1976, and they made their home in Garland, TX. In 2002, Betty and Howard relocated to Wills Point. She was of the Baptist faith and found great joy in sewing, cooking for her family and being “Nanny” to all of her grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Mason and Jessie Harwell; husband, Howard Davis; son, Mike Gilliam; brothers Harold, Bobby Joe, and Richard Harwell and sister Delores McKay.

Betty is survived by her daughter, Dawn Steil and husband Don of Kaufman, TX; son, Tommy Gilliam of Wills Point, TX; grandchildren, Crystal Carrico (Michael), Donnie Steil (Alison), Tyler Gooch (Angela), Tanner Gooch (Erin), Baylee Roberts (Preston), great-grandchildren Skyler, Kinley and Lainey Carrico, Saige Steil, Maverick, Roman, Lucia, Kennedy and Bennett Gooch, Penelope Roberts as well as other loving relatives and friends.
