Bessie Elizabeth Miller

A private family service will be held for Bessie Elizabeth Miller, 76, of Edgewood, TX, at 11:00 AM, Saturday, December 5, 2020, at Hiett’s Lybrand Funeral Home in Edgewood. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service time starting at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow at Small Cemetery.

Bessie went to be with the Lord on Friday, November 27, 2020, Edgewood, TX.

Bessie Elizabeth Fifield was born on July 19, 1944, in Dallas, TX, to parents, James Clarence Fifield and Ann Elizabeth Keener. She worked several jobs before April 1970, when she became employed by Montgomery Wards in quality assurance until it’s closing in June 2000. On August 11, 1989, Bessie married Tom Miller of Mesquite, TX. They lived in Mesquite while raising his three children and later moved to Edgewood, TX, in 2002. Bessie was a member of the Pleasant Union Baptist Church. She loved fishing, camping, sewing and cooking, but shopping was her number one hobby.

She is preceded in death by her parents, James C. and Ann E. Fifield; brother, Ralph Fifield; and first husband, Wayne Aaron.

Bessie is survived by her husband of 31 years, Tom Miller of Edgewood, TX; daughters, Patricia Liles and husband, Max of Mineola, TX, and Carla Clark of Ft. Worth, TX; step-son, Michael Miller and wife, Kelly of Troup, TX; step-daughter, Beth Saxton and husband, Scott of Bullard, TX; step-daughter, Sarah Johnson and husband, Greg of Austin, TX; brothers, James Fifield and wife, Sue of Fairview, TX, and Alvin Fifield and wife, Monda of Kaufman, TX; twelve grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren and one on the way; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
