Beatriz Colunga Vargas

The immediate family will have a private funeral service for Beatriz Colunga Vargas, 24, of Emory, will be held Friday, March 27, 2020, at St. John Catholic Church in Emory.  Burial will follow at Emory City Cemetery.  Services are under direction of Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home in Wills Point.

Beatriz tragically passed away March 24, 2020, in an automobile accident.

Beatriz Colunga Vargas was born February 2, 1996, San Damian, GTO Mexico.  She is the daughter of Manuel and Magdalena Colunga Vargas.  Beatriz spent her early years in the East Tawakoni area, and moved to Emory in 2010.   She was a 2014 graduate of Rains High School and then graduated with honors in 2018, from the University of Texas in Tyler Nursing School.  Beatriz was presently employed as a pediatric labor and delivery nurse for Christus Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler.  She attended St. John Catholic Church in Emory.

Beatriz is survived by her parents, Manuel and Magdalena Colunga of Emory; brothers, Jesse Colunga, Cesar Colunga, Alejandro Colunga and wife Mayra, Jose Manuel and wife Iris, and  Luis Colunga and wife Dulce; sister, Maria Laura Colunga; and grandparents, Esteban and Ester Vargas Sanchez; and many other relatives and friends.

A come and go visitation for the Colunga family will be held Thursday, March 26, 2020, from 1:00 pm until 8:00 pm,  at St. John Catholic Church , 551 E. FM 2795, Emory, TX.  In order to be in compliance with the CDC, visitation will be limited to ten people at a time.  We ask you to please be patient and understanding during this difficult time.
