Barbara "JoAnn" Massey

Funeral services for Barbara “JoAnn” Massey, 82, of Terrell, TX, are scheduled for 1:00 PM, Monday, December 13, 2021, at Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home in Wills Point. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service time. Burial will follow at White Rose Cemetery.

JoAnn passed away on Friday, December 10, 2021.

Barbara JoAnn Massey was born on August 2, 1939, in Wills Point, TX, to parents, John Calvin Massey and Jessie Morris Massey. She was raised in College Mound and later attended the Austin State School and Mexia State School. Later in her life JoAnn moved to Corsicana and was very proud to have a job at the Collin Street Bakery where she worked on the packaging line. The latter part of her life was spent in Pecan Tree Health and Rehab in Gainesville. JoAnn loved the Lord and attended the Church of Christ whenever she could. Many days in the nursing home you would catch her singing “Amazing Grace” for anyone to hear.

She is preceded in death by her parents, John C. and Jessie Massey; brothers, Durwood Massey, Calvin “Shorty” Massey and Millard Massey; sister, Daphene Berhend.

Barbara is survived by her brother, Tillman Massey of Terrell, TX; sister, Dorothy Brockway of Gainesville, TX; along with many nieces and nephews.
