Anna Sue Moore

Private funeral services for Anna Sue Moore, formerly of Edgewood, will be held at Noon, on Wednesday, April 15, 2020, at Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial will be held at Haven of Memories in Canton.  Services will live stream on our Facebook page, www.facebook.com/HiettLybrand.

Anna Sue Moore was born April 11, 1933 in Marked Tree, Arkansas, to John Wesley and Mattie Pearl Smith.  She was raised in Marked Tree, where she graduated from high school. That is also where she met the love of her life, Luther Moore.  She and Luther married on February 14, 1950, in McFarland, California.  They lived and raised their children, Donna, Kenneth and Gary in McFarland. Anna Sue was employed at Sears Catalog in Delano, CA, for thirty-one years.  In 1997, after Anna Sue and Luther retired, they moved to Edgewood, Texas, where they made many friends and attended the First Baptist Church.  Luther preceded her in death April of 2017, and she decided to relocate to Bakersfield, CA, to be closer to family.

She loved her family and was very loved in return. She will be missed by all.

Anna Sue was preceded in death by her husband Luther; daughter, Donna Kay Thompson; parents, John Wesley and Mattie Pearl Smith; brothers, Gilbert, John Wesley Jr. and Donald Smith; sisters, Rae Smith and Madge Glidewell; and daughters-in-law, Petrina Moore and Leah Moore.

She is survived by her sons, Kenny Moore and wife Joyce, and Gary Moore, all of CA;  

son-in-law, John Thompson; grandchildren, Sam Precie, Nadia Robles and husband Michael, Peter Moore, Wesley Moore, Danny Moore and wife Megan, and Lauren Moore; six great granddaughters and one great grandson; and many nieces and nephews.

Anna Sue passed away on April 8, 2020.
