Funeral services for Anita Kay Clark, 62, of Quinlan, TX, are scheduled for 11:00 AM, Tuesday, November 8, 2022, at Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home in Wills Point. Burial will follow at Myrtle Springs Cemetery.
Anita passed away on Wednesday, November 2, 2022, at her home.
Anita Kay Hunter was born on December 4, 1959, in Baton Rouge, LA, to parents Tommy Gene Hunter and Diane Christian Hunter. Anita married James Barton and they had two boys, Joe and Jeremy, settling into their home in Wills Point in 1992. She later married Rex Clark and they made their home in Quinlan. Anita retired from the Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office as a jailer in 2015. She was of the Baptist faith. Anita enjoyed fishing, being outdoors, crafting, and gathering with family and friends, but most of all loved being a mother to her children and MiMi to her granddaughters.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Tommy Hunter and Diane Christian; sister, Jeanette Christian-Stimmel; and stepmother Ruby Margaret Hunter.
Anita is survived by her husband, Rex Clark of Quinlan, TX; sons, Joe Barton and wife, Angela of Wills Point, TX, and Jeremy Barton of Quinlan, TX; stepdaughters, Anita Tate and family of Greenville, TX, and Sara Hoffmeister and family of West, TX; sister, Melanie Holifield and husband, Steve of Lott, TX; grandchildren, Isabella , Katelynn, and Hunter; along with numerous other family members and friends.
Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 PM, Monday, November 7, 2022, at Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home.
