Andrew “A.J.” George, 42, of Wills Point, TX, passed away on Thursday, July 24, 2025, in Greenville at Hunt Regional Medical Center with his family by his side after a battle with cancer. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, Saturday, August 2, 2025, at Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home.
Andrew James George was born on April 26, 1983, in Dallas, TX, to Ricky Glen George and Debra Sue Thomas George. A lifelong resident of Wills Point, A.J. graduated from Wills Point High School with the Class of 2001. He went on to attend ATI Welding School and began his career as a welder and metal fabricator with Rush Trucks Center.
A.J. was a diehard Dallas Cowboys fan—win or lose—and had a passion for tattoos and a bit of a shoe fetish. He had a huge heart, always showing up for those he cared about, and was especially devoted to his nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ricky Glen George; his grandparents; and his beloved fur baby, Chief Dog.
A.J. is survived by his mother, Debra George of Wills Point, TX; brother, Daniel George and wife Nikki of Edgewood, TX; sister, Candace Harris and husband Ben of Rowlett, TX; stepmother, Sue Ellen George of Grand Saline, TX; stepbrothers, Chris Elliott and wife Christine, and Danny Elliott and wife Lauren; nieces and nephews, Payton Harris, Lizzy Harris, Allie George, Reagan Harris, Ty George, Laylah Elliott, Grace Elliott, Danni Elliott, Amelia Elliott and Dawson Elliott; along with numerous other relatives and close friends.
