Funeral services for Stella Marie Lyons, 71, of Wills Point, TX, are scheduled for 1:00 PM, Saturday, November 16, 2019, at Wesley Chapel Baptist Church with Rev. Darrel Hammond officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Hiett's LyBrand Funeral Home in Wills Point.

Stella Marie Lyons

Stella Marie Lyons was born January 14, 1948 in Wills Point, Texas from the union of the late Willie T. Autry and Ida Bell Autry. She was educated in Wills Point Independent School District.  She was a loving and caring wife to Curtis Lee Lyons; with this union they were blessed with three children.  Stella worked for the Glen Ellis Family for 41 years before retiring and was instrumental in helping to raise their children to adulthood. 

Stella accepted Christ at an early age at Wesley Chapel Baptist Church. Stella became God’s shining star for the Wesley Chapel Usher Board who has been widely praised for their decorum and faithfulness under the leadership and guidance of Stella.  Stella was also the head of the Food Committee which she served as if it were her personal kitchen everything had to be perfect as with the Usher Board.

Stella’s biggest joy was also being an awesome Granny.

Stella was preceded in death by her Father Willie T. Autry and Mother Ida Bell Autry, Son Derek Lyons Sr. and Sister Willie Bell Spencer.

Stella leaves to cherish her legacy, her husband Curtis Lee Lyons children; Dondrick Lyons (Sandra) of Mesquite, Texas, Lajeria Spencer (DeAndre) of Mesquite, Texas, God Son Ricky Warren (Lynette) of Wills Point, Texas; sisters, Leola Brumley of Wills Point, Texas, Mary Kennedy (Eddie) of Mesquite, Texas and Alice Lyons of  Mesquite, Texas; 7 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, loving friends and extended family.

Stella lived a full and fruitful life and her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those she loved and who loved her.

Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 PM, Friday, November 15, 2019, at Hiett's LyBrand Funeral Home in Wills Point.
