Ruby Ranne Obituary

Funeral Services for Ruby Ranne, 87, of Wills Point, are scheduled for 11:00 am, Tuesday, April 2, 2019, at Brookside Baptist Church.  Burial will follow at High Cemetery in Canton, TX.  Services are under direction of Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home in Wills Point.

 

Ruby Etoise Evans Ranne was born April 21, 1931, in Italy, TX, to the late Vernon Julius Evans and Myrtle Irene White Evans.  She was raised in Italy, TX, and graduated from Italy High School where she received several accolades, including homecoming queen.  Ruby married Leonard Wilson Ranne September 15, 1951, in Waxahachie, TX, and lived in the Oak Cliff area of Dallas.  She was employed as an automotive buyer with Southwestern Bell for thirty seven years, during that time they operated a dairy farm in Canton, where they raised their two sons, Phillip and Michael. All the nieces and nephews have fond memories of shucking corn and playing with the pigs and chicken. In the 1970’s Ruby and Leonard moved to Lake Tawakoni. She and Leonard later divorced and Ruby married Wiley Eugene Wilson.  Ruby cared for her brothers and sisters and was also employed with Jordan Healthcare taking care of others.  She was a member of Brookside Baptist Church in Myrtle Springs since 1988.   

 

She is preceded in death by her parents, as well as, her former husbands, Leonard Wilson Ranne and Wylie Eugene Wilson; brothers, Ellis Evans, Buford Evans and Robert Evans; sisters, Jaunice Vanarden, Josie Isabelle Evans and Lois Fitzgerald.

 

Ruby is survived by her sons, Phillip Ranne and wife, Kristi of Carrollton, TX, and Michael Ranne of Dallas, TX; step-children, Cathy Darlene Lewis, Patricia Ann Wilson and Michael Wilson; grandchildren, Whitney Ranne and Brittany Lynn Houle; step-granddaughter, Tara Michelle Nawrocki; and many other nieces, nephews and friends.

 

Family visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 pm Monday evening at the funeral home in Wills Point.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Ruby’s Sunday School Class at Brookside Baptist Church in Myrtle Springs.
