Graveside services for Ronald “Ron” Dummer, 70, of Wills Point, are scheduled for 10:00 AM, Tuesday, March 27, 2018, at DFW National Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home in Wills Point.
Ron’s register book will be available to sign Monday, March 26, at the funeral home in Wills Point from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
It is with great sadness that the family of Ronald Earl Dummer announces his passing on Friday, March 22, 2018, from complications of myotonic muscular dystrophy. Ron was born December 18, 1947, in Dallas, Texas. He graduated from Bryan Adams High School and Dallas Baptist University. Ron was a sergeant in the Army and won medals for bravery during Vietnam. He served as a Dallas Police Officer for 23 years where he rode motorcycles, horses and worked traffic. Ron loved the Lord and served as a Baptist minister for 25 years including Stagner Baptist in Hawkins and Seven Oaks Baptist in Wills Point.
Ron is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Cathy Jones Dummer. He is also survived by his son Derek Dummer and sister Marilyn Grable. He will lovingly be missed by many family and friends. Ron was preceded in death by his sons Darren Dummer and Dwayne Dummer, his parents, Wilmer and Sybil Dummer and his sister Janis Stell.
Ron was an avid Denver Broncos fan and he loved riding his horse Denver and playing with his sheltie dog Gracie. Memorial Bibles may be given through The Gideon’s International (gideons.org).
