Norma "Marie" Staggs

Services for Norma “Marie” Staggs of Terrell, are scheduled for 2:00 PM, Wednesday, January 24, 2018, at Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home in Wills Point.  Burial will follow at College Mound Cemetery in Terrell. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service time at the Funeral Home Chapel. There will be no graveside services.

Norma Marie Talley was born October 11, 1932, in Commerce, TX to the late Willard R. Talley and Jewel Marie Sparks Talley. She married Patrick H. Jones and they lived in Oceanside, CA for a short while and then moved to New Boston, TX, where they raised their twin girls, Debra and Patti. Marie later married Ron Staggs in February 1973. She was a dress designer and manager for Malouf Manufacturing in Dallas and Wills Point and retired in 1995. She and Ron moved to Terrell in 2010. Marie enjoyed designing dresses, all aspects of home decorating, painting and ceramics. She was a member of Pine Hill Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Winnsboro, TX.

Marie is survived by her husband, Ron Staggs of Terrell; twin daughters, Patti Lynn Jones Irwin and husband Chuck of Colleyville, and Debra Gwyn Jones Cannon and husband Ray of College Mound, daughter Debra Staggs and son, Randall Staggs, both of Dayton, OH; sisters, Dee Morris of Terrell and Wanda Smedley and husband Charles of Winnsboro, TX. She also has eight loving grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by these loved ones, numerous nieces and nephews, and other family and friends.
