Funeral services for Monnie Valentine Furrh, 81, of Wills Point, TX, are scheduled for 2:00 PM, Tuesday, October 23, 2018, at Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home in Wills Point. Burial will follow at White Rose Cemetery.

Monnie passed away on Thursday, October 18, 2018.

Monnie Idella Valentine was born February 28, 1937, in Edgewood, TX, to parents, Raymond Henry Valentine and Opal Viola Baugh. She was raised in Edgewood where she graduated high school. Monnie met and married William Perry “Buddy” Furrh on September 24, 1955, at First Baptist Church in Wills Point. Buddy served in the United States Marine Corp and he and Monnie lived in various cities around the metroplex and enjoyed their farm house in Wills Point. She was a homemaker and had many hobbies that she enjoyed. Monnie loved gardening and wrote poetry, arts and crafts and antique flea market junking. She was an attendee of Seven Oaks Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Opal Valentine; her husband, William Perry Furrh; sister, Guinave Hawkins.

Monnie is survived by her sons, Terry Furrh and wife, Elizabeth, of LaRue, TX and William Perry Furrh, Jr. and wife, Kathy, of Kilgore, TX; daughters, D’Ann Nimmo and husband, John, of Wills Point, TX and Kathy Lynne Wiggins of Fort Worth, TX; brothers, L.G. “Buzzy” Valentine and wife, Suzette, of Edgewood, TX, R.H. “Buddy” Valentine, Jr. and wife, Barbara, of Edgewood, TX and Jesse Valetine and wife, Diana, of Edgewood, TX; sisters, Selma Dawson of Canton, TX, Mae Valentine of Mesquite, TX, Fay Chitty and husband, Ronnie, of Wills Point, TX, Skippie Lou Walker and husband, Gene, of Forney, TX and Ruth Sellers and husband, Dennis, of West Virginia; thirteen grandchildren and twenty-one great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 PM, Monday, October 22, 2018, at Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home in Wills Point.
