Funeral services for Marvin Wayne Clack, 77, of Streetman, TX, are scheduled for 2:00 PM, Wednesday, December 27, 2017, at Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home in Wills Point with Rev. C.D. Walker and Rev. Jonathan Fitzgerald officiating. Burial will follow at White Rose Cemetery.
Marvin Wayne Clack was born August 12, 1940, in Dallas, TX to parents, Robert F. Clack and Sadie Whitten Clack. He was raised in Mesquite and graduated from South Oak Cliff High School and briefly went into the Air Force Reserves. Marvin married Janet Hair in Dallas, TX, on April 27, 1961, and they moved to Duncanville to make their home. Marvin worked for Dallas Power and Light and retired after 23 years. Marvin was an ordained Baptist minister for over forty years pastoring at Liberty Baptist Church in Gun Barrel City where he was a state missionary for a short time. Also he pastored at Sunnyvale Baptist Church in Pleasant Grove before he and Janet moved to Streetman for the last 25 years, retiring from First Baptist St. Elmo Church in Streetman, TX. He was a jack of all trades that loved his family as well as fishing, hunting and movies with grandkids.
Marvin is survived by his wife, Janet Clack of Streetman, TX; mother-in-law, Mary Hair of Streetman, TX; son, Larry Clack and wife, Melannie, of Frisco, TX; daughter, Donna Gutierrez and husband, Ozzy, of Crandall, TX; brother, Robert Paul Clack of Hobbs, NM; sisters, Marcia Greding and husband, Eddie, of Harper, TX, and Joyce Kiles and husband, Robert, of Enid, OK; grandchildren, Kelli Gutierrez, Ryan Gutierrez, Jillian Clack and Caden Clack along with nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to service time.
