Lynda Welch

Funeral services for Lynda Bennett Welch, 71, of Grand Saline, are scheduled for 1:00 PM, Wednesday, June 5, 2019, at Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home in Wills Point.   Burial will follow at White Rose Cemetery.

Lynda passed away June 1, 2019, in Tyler, TX.

Lynda was born January 31, 1948, to Bertha Fridell and the late, W.C. “Joe” Bennett.

She married Sammy Dean Welch November 9, 1962, in the Lawrence Community of Terrell.  They moved to Rockwall for a short time before making their home in Edgewood, where they raised their children, Rhonda, Cindy, Michael and Joey.  They later settled in Van.  Lynda was a homemaker and was a member of the Church of God in Edgewood.

She is preceded in death by her father, W.C. “Joe” Bennett, mother, Bertha Fridell; as well as, her husband Sammy Dean Welch; brothers, James Ray Bennett and Larry Don Bennett; sister-in-law, Sandra Campbell; brothers-in-law, Speedy Meister, Harold Musick, A.B. Campbell, Gaither McBride and wife, Sue, Harry Woodall and Charles Ray Tull and wife, Marie; and nephews, George Dotson and Billy James Hawkins.

Lynda is survived by her children, Rhonda Cranford (Sean Jackson) of Addison, Cindy Platt (Jack) of Justin, Micheal Welch (Ebby) of Van, and Joey Welch (Virginia) of Van; sister, JoAnn Woodall of Mesa, AZ; brothers and sisters-in-law, Charles Welch (Edith) of Cedar Creek, Danny Welch (Robin) of Connecticut, Geneva Campbell of Edgewood, Judy Meister and Allen Campbell of Cedar Creek; grandchildren, Samantha Sustaita (Deric), Teresa Cook ( Mitchell), Kari Smith, Joshua Monk (Ashley), Amber Munn (Terry), Heather Welch ( Chris), Zackary Rose, Brittany Price (Nick) and Kaci Welch; fifteen great grandchildren; close friends, Shea Hartley and Jesse Cranford; and many other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 6:00-8:00 pm Wills Point.
