Funeral services for Lindy Mae Sanford, 85, of Wills Point, TX, are scheduled for 2:00 PM, Sunday, February 24, 2019, at the First Baptist Church in Wills Point. Burial will follow at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Maydelle. Services are under direction of Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home.
Lindy passed away February 21, 2019, at her home in Wills Point surrounded by her family.
Lindy Mae Price was born July 22, 1933, to parents, Luther and Juanita Price. She was raised in Watonga, OK and graduated from Watonga High School. After graduating, Lindy attended Draughon School of Business in Oklahoma City. Lindy married Rayford S. Sanford, Jr. on May 27, 1956, in Watonga, OK, where they began sixty-one years of marriage. She and Ray lived in various cities due to his type of work, while raising four children. Lindy was employed in the school district cafeteria and was later employed by the City of Irving Police Department for twenty-five years. She was a member of Oak View Baptist Church in Irving for many years before moving to Wills Point in 2012 to live closer to family. Lindy most recently was a member of Crossroads Baptist Church in Canton. She loved sewing, quilting and reading. Lindy loved her family, family gatherings and was affectionately known by many who knew her as “Nanny.”
She is preceded in death by her parents, Luther and Juanita Price; husband, Rayford S. Sanford, Jr.; one brother and two sisters.
Lindy is survived by her children, Mike Sanford and wife, Connie of Wills Point, Pat Sanford and wife, Tammy of Paradise, Cindi Howard and husband, Clifford of Lewisville and Kelly Sanford and wife, Julie of Wills Point; grandchildren, Jeremy and Jayme Sanford, Jenni and Kyle Crayton, Jacqueline and Randy Miller, Joshua and Margot Sanford, Colton, Caylie and Colbi Howard, Hunter, Jarred and Jacob Sanford; great grandchildren, Lauryn, Tyler, Sadie and Emma Sanford; Kyleigh, Alli, Brylee and Brody Crayton; Kailyn and Kinsler Miller; Blake, Addyson and Cooper Sanford.
Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 PM, Saturday, February 23, 2019, at Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home in Wills Point.
