Juanita "Lopez" Miles

Funeral services for Juanita “Lopez” Miles, 94, of Wills Point, are scheduled for 11:00 AM, Saturday, December 22, 2018, at Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home in Wills Point. Burial will follow at White Rose Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service time.

Lopez passed away Tuesday, December 18, 2018, in Kaufman.

Juanita Lopez Parker was born September 30, 1924, in Wills Point, TX, to Cherrie O’dell Parker and Ellie Mae Moore Parker. She was a life-long resident of Wills Point where she attended and graduated Wills Point High School. Lopez married Thurman John Miles on August 27, 1941, raising one child, Pamela. She worked for the Wills Point Livestock Commission of Wills Point, Thurman’s Five and Dime, Mcleod Service Station and Deen Implement, Co. where she did bookkeeping. Later she worked as a teller at 1st National Bank in Wills Point retiring as a bank officer. Lopez was a member of Russell Memorial United Methodist Church. She always put family first and was faithful in remembering special dates.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Thurman J. Miles; parents, Cherrie and Ellie Parker; brothers, Travis O’dell Parker and J.A. Parker.

Lopez is survived by her daughter, Pam Rhoades and husband, Bob of Forney, TX; grandchildren, Matthew Wade Rhoades and wife, Edelia of Morongo Valley, CA and Robin Nicole Brezik and husband, James of Rockwall, TX; great grandchildren, Liam and Owen Rhoades and Hannah Nicole Brezik.
