Joshua was born on March 12, 1985, in Mesquite, TX, to parents, David Harvey and Ruthie Lee Gibson Meeks. After graduating high school and attending some college, Joshua worked as a bartender in Dallas.

Joshua is survived by his mother, Ruthie Gibson of Dallas and father, David Meeks of Houston; brother, Michael Grandchampt and wife Amber of Ennis; nephew, Clark Grandchampt.
