Funeral services for Jean Reed Miracle, 96, of Wills Point, are scheduled for 11:00 am, Tuesday, July 23, 2019 at Russell Memorial United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Union Grove Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home in Wills Point.
Jean Reed Miracle passed away on July 19, 2019. Jean was born in Wills Point on October 4, 1922, the daughter of Claude Reed and Cecil Lester Reed. She was raised in Wills Point and graduated from Wills Point High School in 1940. Jean later graduated from Rutherford Business School and was employed by Home Insurance Company in Dallas. Jean married Haskell Laney Miracle on August 22, 1947, and made their home in Wills Point, where they raised their three sons.
For many years Jean and Haskell were co-owners of Home Insurance Agency with Betty and Johnny Pratt in Wills Point. Jean served on the Board of Directors of the Chamber of Commerce in Wills Point and on the Board of Trustees of Russell Memorial United Methodist Church in Wills Point, where she was a life-long member.
Jean is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Haskell (July 30, 1995); her sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy and Robert Rockenbaugh; her brother Stanley Max Reed and infant brother Claude Lester Reed.
Jean is survived by her son, Bruce G. Miracle and wife Deborah Murrey Miracle of Terrell, son Rocky Reed Miracle and wife Sarah Caughran Miracle of El Paso, son Rusty Scott Miracle and wife Carol Tapp Miracle of Wills Point; sister-in-law Shirley Reed of Wills Point; niece Candy Hays and husband Jim of Longview, Deb Campbell and husband Don of Birmingham, Alabama.
Known affectionately as “Mama Jean” by her six grandchildren; Elizabeth Miracle and husband Gardner Loulan of San Rafael, California, David Miracle and wife Brinn of Houston, Ross Miracle and wife Julie of Sunnyvale, Paul Miracle and wife Tina of Houston, Scott Miracle of Dallas and Kelly Begley and husband Nic of Dallas.
Great grandchildren include Reed Richard Miracle, Bennett Patrick Miracle and Isabelle Anne Miracle of Sunnyvale, Emma Jean Miracle of Houston, Alira Kay Miracle of Houston, and Alexis Miracle Loulan of San Rafael, as well as many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Russell Memorial United Methodist Church or your favorite charity.
Family visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 pm Monday evening at the funeral home.
