Janice Fay McDonald

Funeral services for Janice Fay McDonald, 82, of Edgewood, are scheduled for 2:00 PM, Saturday, December 15, 2018, at Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home in Edgewood. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service time. Burial will follow at Small Cemetery.

Janice Fay McDonald was born August 12, 1936, in Edgewood, TX, to the late John Willis McDonald and Ora Ella Stribling McDonald. She was raised in Edgewood and graduated Edgewood High School in 1954. Janice lived in Garland most of her life. She worked for over thirty-five years as a secretary for the City of Dallas Police Department and also for the Boy Scouts of America. Janice was of the Baptist faith and before moving to Garland was a member of Pleasant Union Baptist Church in the Small Community, North of Edgewood. She returned to Van Zandt County in 2003 and enjoyed activities and church services at Country Trails Care Center. Janice faithfully remembered friend’s and family’s birthdays and always sent cards.

She is preceded in death by her parents, John Willis McDonald (May 28, 1950) and Ora Ella Stribling (October 27, 1968).

Janice is survived by her cousins, Christine Burt of Mississippi, Audra Bruner of Garland and Kay Travis of Edgewood.
