Funeral services for Glenda Walker Davidson, 77, of Edgewood, TX, are scheduled for 2:00 PM, Monday, October 21, 2019, at Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home in Wills Point. Burial will follow at Barrett Cemetery in Edgewood.
Glenda passed away Thursday, October 17, 2019, in Tyler.
Glenda Ophelia Walker was born on February 25, 1942, in Graham, TX, to parents, Rev. James Franklin Walker and Sylvia Sintha Mayo Walker. She was raised in Graham, Ft. Worth and Edgewood and graduated from Edgewood High School. Glenda attended Jacksonville College and L.V.N. school in Grand Saline. Her father pastored at Lane Church of God where she met her husband, Jerry Don Erwin. She and Jerry had two children, Amy and Tim. Glenda was an L.V.N. for thirty-five years working as an emergency room nurse, in clinics and as a primary caregiver. She was employed by Juliette Fowler Nursing home in Dallas for twenty-four years as a nursing home administrator. Glenda was a member of Lanewood Church of God in Edgewood. She had a great sense of humor and loved spending time with the grandkids. Glenda also enjoyed reality shows, word games and was a veracious reader, reading over one thousand books.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Rev. Frank and Sylvia Walker and brothers, Mike and Mark Walker.
Glenda is survived by her daughter, Amy Thomas of Garland; son, Timothy Erwin and wife, Tracy of Edgewood; sister, Renee Montgomery and husband, Arlen of Fort Worth; grandchildren, Kane Kizzia and wife Amy, Michael Weinman, Meagan Keefe, Erica Furrate and husband Tregre, Cassye Huff and husband Chris, Brett Erwin and wife Brooklyn, and Trey Erwin and thirteen great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to service time at Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home in Wills Point.
