Francis Mayron Patton

Francis Mayron Patton passed away peacefully on Friday, January 19th, 2018 in Wylie, Texas at the age of 85.                                                                                                                                                                                  

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 24, 2018, at the First United Methodist Church of Plano, Texas and a short visitation starting at 9:30 a.m. with the Pastor Ed Volfe officiating.  Interment will follow at 3 p.m. at Rosemound Cemetery in Waco, Texas.  Services are under the direction of Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home in Wills Point. The family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in Frank’s name.                                                                                                                             

Mr. Patton was born August 2nd, 1932 to Francis Patton Sr. and Mittie Underwood Patton in Waco, where he attended Waco High School and Baylor University. He later served his country as a member of the Air Force during the Korean War. He married Evelyn L. Witt on December 21st, 1952, and they lived in Waco, Midland, Mesquite, Plano and Princeton, Texas. During their 54 years of marriage they were blessed with 6 children. He was preceded in death by an infant son, Francis Patton III, in 1961, and his beloved wife Evelyn on January 20th, 2007.                                                                                           

Frank had a career as a surveyor, in sales, and as a charter bus and school bus driver for the Allen ISD of Allen, Texas. He loved playing golf, he enjoyed his children’s school and sports activities, working on cars and carpentry.                                                                                                                                                                        

Surviving family includes a son Russell Patton, daughter Patti Orsburn and husband Randy, daughter Kathy Aaron and husband Dennis, daughter Terri Lawson and husband Mike, and daughter Sandy Peters and husband James. Grandchildren are Zachary Orsburn, Tiffany Hill, Jacob Davis, Riley Lawson and Kendyll Patton.                                                                                                                                                        

The family would like to thank the caregivers at the Garnet Hill Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for their dedication, devotion and loving care that they bestowed on Frank during his time there.
