Funeral services for Claudene Parker, 90, of Garland, TX, are scheduled for 11:00 AM, Tuesday, January 8, 2019, at Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home in Wills Point. Burial will follow at White Rose Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service time.
Huey Claudene Clark was born September 25, 1928, in Cove, Arkansas, to parents, Claude Clark and Virgie Ethel Hughes Clark. She and her family lived in various East Texas cities, attending Edgewood High School. Travis Parker’s sister, Lopez, introduced him and Claudene at a young age and they soon married January 19, 1946. Travis and Claudene worked at the Wills Point Cotton Gin before moving to Garland in 1961, where they raised their children. She began selling real estate in the Garland area, also worked for Bickle & Rex Home Builders for several years. Before retiring Claudene worked as a service manager for Smith Furniture Co. Claudene’s membership remained at the First Baptist Church in Wills Point all of her life and attended church often with her daughter in Sachse.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Virgie Clark; husband, Travis Parker Sr; son, Travis (Jack) Parker Jr.; granddaughter, Tammy; sister, Lillie Clark and brothers, Weston Clark and Charles Clark.
Claudene is survived by daughters, Shelia Crites and husband Wes of Shamrock, TX and Sherri Cauley and husband Gary of Caddo Mills, TX; sisters, Ruby Mitchell of Longview, TX, Shelby Green of Cleburne, TX, Cora Allen of Denton, TX and Kitty Harris and husband Johnny of Lake Dallas, TX; sister-in-law, Margaret Clark of Quinlan, TX; eleven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
